Jen Welo
MFT Practicum Provider
Jen (she/her) utilizes a creative, playful, and compassionate approach to build relationships and explore our experiences in the world. She believes each person is an expert in their own story and aims to co-create a therapeutic process that resonates with clients and their families.
With over a decade of experience as an artist and licensed K-12 art educator, Jen incorporates art-making and play into her practice. She is dedicated to honoring and unpacking the impact of systemic oppression on individuals' lives, while emphasizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, and social context to promote well-being. Jen strives to create a trauma-informed, affirmative and inclusive environment, both in-person and virtually.
Jen sees individual clients, romantic partners, families, adolescents and small humans (ages 3 and above).
Jen is a licensed K-12 art educator, certified in yin, restorative, and vinyasa yoga, and a certified level 1 Gottman Couples Therapy trainee. Jen is currently pursuing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She practices under the supervision of Kelly Heagle, MA, RPT, LMFT, and Nicole Carreon, MA, LMFT.
Jen is available Monday through Wednesday and is happy to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation. Jen accepts most major insurances and offers a sliding fee scale on a case by case basis.
